Grilled Skewers (shashlik)

Ingredients

  • 1 lb (450g) beef or lamb, cut into cubes
  • 1 large onion, cut into chunks
  • 2 bell peppers, cut into squares
  • 8 cherry tomatoes
  • 1/4 cup (60ml) olive oil
  • 3 tablespoons vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine the olive oil, vinegar, salt, and black pepper to make the marinade.
  2. Add the meat cubes to the marinade and let it sit for at least 1 hour in the refrigerator.
  3. Once the meat is marinated, thread the meat, onion, bell peppers, and cherry tomatoes onto skewers.
  4. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.
  5. Grill the skewers for about 10-15 minutes, turning occasionally, until the meat is cooked to your desired level of doneness.
  6. Remove the skewers from the grill and let them rest for a few minutes before serving.
