Poisson Braisé, or Grilled Tilapia with Hot Pepper Sauce, is a popular dish in Togolese cuisine. The tilapia is marinated in a flavorful blend of spices and then grilled to perfection, served with a spicy hot pepper sauce.
Ingredients
- 4 tilapia fillets
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 tomatoes, diced
- 2 hot peppers, finely chopped
- 2 cloves of garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon of ginger, grated
- 1 teaspoon of paprika
- 1 teaspoon of ground coriander
- 1 teaspoon of ground cumin
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil
Instructions
- Marinate the tilapia fillets with salt, pepper, paprika, coriander, cumin, garlic, and ginger for 15 minutes.
- Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.
- Grill the marinated tilapia fillets for 5-7 minutes on each side, or until cooked through.
- In a separate pan, heat the vegetable oil and sauté the onions, tomatoes, and hot peppers until softened.
- Season the hot pepper sauce with salt and pepper to taste.
- Serve the grilled tilapia with the hot pepper sauce on the side.
