Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour

  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Vegetable oil for frying

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix together the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon.
  2. In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, egg, and vanilla extract.
  3. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until a dough forms.
  4. On a floured surface, roll out the dough to 1/4 inch thickness and cut into circles using a cookie cutter or the rim of a glass.
  5. In a deep pot, heat the vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C).
  6. Carefully place the dough circles into the hot oil and fry until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side.
  7. Remove the donuts from the oil and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
  8. Serve the Guamanian donuts warm and enjoy!
