Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Vegetable oil for frying
Instructions
- In a large bowl, mix together the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, egg, and vanilla extract.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until a dough forms.
- On a floured surface, roll out the dough to 1/4 inch thickness and cut into circles using a cookie cutter or the rim of a glass.
- In a deep pot, heat the vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C).
- Carefully place the dough circles into the hot oil and fry until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side.
- Remove the donuts from the oil and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
- Serve the Guamanian donuts warm and enjoy!
