Guangdong Chao Mian (cantonese Chow Mein)
Guangdong Chao Mian, also known as Cantonese Chow Mein, is a popular dish in Pakistani Chinese cuisine. This stir-fried noodle dish is loaded with savory flavors and a variety of textures, making it a favorite among many.
Ingredients
- 200g egg noodles
- 200g boneless chicken, thinly sliced
- 1 cup mixed vegetables (bell peppers, carrots, cabbage)
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp oyster sauce
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 2 tbsp cooking oil
- Salt to taste
Instructions
- Boil the egg noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- Heat 1 tbsp of cooking oil in a wok or large skillet over high heat. Add the sliced chicken and stir-fry until cooked through. Remove from the wok and set aside.
- Heat the remaining 1 tbsp of cooking oil in the same wok. Add minced garlic and stir-fry for a few seconds until fragrant.
- Add the mixed vegetables to the wok and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until they are slightly tender but still crisp.
- Return the cooked chicken to the wok. Add the boiled noodles, soy sauce, oyster sauce, sugar, black pepper, and salt. Stir-fry everything together for another 2-3 minutes until well combined and heated through.
- Transfer the Guangdong Chao Mian to a serving dish and serve hot.
