Guangdong Chao Mian, also known as Cantonese Chow Mein, is a popular dish in Pakistani Chinese cuisine. This stir-fried noodle dish is loaded with savory flavors and a variety of textures, making it a favorite among many.

Ingredients

  • 200g egg noodles
  • 200g boneless chicken, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup mixed vegetables (bell peppers, carrots, cabbage)
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 2 tbsp cooking oil
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Boil the egg noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  2. Heat 1 tbsp of cooking oil in a wok or large skillet over high heat. Add the sliced chicken and stir-fry until cooked through. Remove from the wok and set aside.
  3. Heat the remaining 1 tbsp of cooking oil in the same wok. Add minced garlic and stir-fry for a few seconds until fragrant.
  4. Add the mixed vegetables to the wok and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until they are slightly tender but still crisp.
  5. Return the cooked chicken to the wok. Add the boiled noodles, soy sauce, oyster sauce, sugar, black pepper, and salt. Stir-fry everything together for another 2-3 minutes until well combined and heated through.
  6. Transfer the Guangdong Chao Mian to a serving dish and serve hot.
