Gui Hua Gao (osmanthus Jelly)
Gui Hua Gao, also known as Osmanthus Jelly, is a traditional dessert from Guangxi Cuisine known for its delicate floral aroma and refreshing taste. This jelly is often served as a sweet treat or as a palate cleanser after a meal.
Ingredients
- 2 cups water
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup osmanthus flowers
- 1/4 cup agar agar powder
Instructions
- In a saucepan, bring water to a boil.
- Add sugar and osmanthus flowers, stir until the sugar is dissolved.
- Sprinkle agar agar powder into the saucepan while stirring continuously.
- Simmer for 5 minutes, then remove from heat.
- Pour the mixture into molds and let it cool to room temperature. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours until set.
- Unmold the jelly and serve chilled.
