Gui Zhou Huo Guo (guizhou Style Hot Pot)
Gui Zhou Huo Guo, also known as Guizhou Style Hot Pot, is a popular dish from the Guizhou province in China. This spicy and flavorful hot pot is perfect for sharing with friends and family, especially during cold weather.
Ingredients
- 500g thinly sliced beef
- 300g firm tofu, cubed
- 200g enoki mushrooms
- 150g Chinese cabbage, sliced
- 100g mung bean noodles
- 4 cups of chicken or beef broth
- 4 cloves of garlic, minced
- 3 green onions, chopped
- 2 tbsp Sichuan peppercorns
- 2 tbsp chili bean paste
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1/2 tsp salt
Instructions
- In a large pot, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat. Add the garlic, green onions, Sichuan peppercorns, and chili bean paste. Cook for 2-3 minutes until fragrant.
- Pour in the chicken or beef broth and bring to a boil.
- Add the soy sauce, sugar, and salt to the broth. Then add the beef, tofu, enoki mushrooms, Chinese cabbage, and mung bean noodles. Cook for 5-7 minutes until the beef is cooked and the vegetables are tender.
- Transfer the hot pot to a tabletop burner and keep it simmering while serving.
