Ingredients

  • 1 lb fish fillets, such as tilapia or catfish
  • 3 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 inch ginger, grated
  • 2-3 green onions, chopped
  • 1 red bell pepper, sliced
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tbsp Sichuan peppercorns
  • 1-2 tbsp chili flakes
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 cups chicken or vegetable broth
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch mixed with 3 tbsp water

Instructions

  1. Pat the fish fillets dry with paper towels and cut them into bite-sized pieces. Season with salt and set aside.
  2. Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the garlic, ginger, and white parts of the green onions. Sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
