Gulab Jamun Cake
This gulab jamun cake is a fusion dessert that combines the flavors of the classic Indian sweet with a moist and fluffy cake. It's the perfect treat for any special occasion or celebration!
Ingredients
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup milk powder
- 1/2 cup ghee
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup yogurt
- 1/4 cup water
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp cardamom powder
- 1/4 cup chopped nuts (almonds, pistachios)
- 1 cup sugar for syrup
- 1 cup water for syrup
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a bowl, mix the all-purpose flour, milk powder, ghee, sugar, yogurt, water, baking powder, and cardamom powder until well combined.
- Grease a cake pan and pour the batter into it.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- While the cake is baking, prepare the sugar syrup by boiling 1 cup of sugar with 1 cup of water until it forms a slightly sticky syrup.
- Once the cake is done, remove it from the oven and poke holes all over the top with a toothpick.
- Pour the sugar syrup over the cake, allowing it to soak in.
- Sprinkle the chopped nuts on top for garnish.
- Let the cake cool before slicing and serving.
