Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup milk powder
  • 1/2 cup ghee
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup yogurt
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp cardamom powder
  • 1/4 cup chopped nuts (almonds, pistachios)
  • 1 cup sugar for syrup
  • 1 cup water for syrup

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix the all-purpose flour, milk powder, ghee, sugar, yogurt, water, baking powder, and cardamom powder until well combined.
  3. Grease a cake pan and pour the batter into it.
  4. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  5. While the cake is baking, prepare the sugar syrup by boiling 1 cup of sugar with 1 cup of water until it forms a slightly sticky syrup.
  6. Once the cake is done, remove it from the oven and poke holes all over the top with a toothpick.
  7. Pour the sugar syrup over the cake, allowing it to soak in.
  8. Sprinkle the chopped nuts on top for garnish.
  9. Let the cake cool before slicing and serving.
