Ingredients

  • 8 large cabbage leaves
  • 500g ground chicken
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ground coriander
  • 1 teaspoon ground turmeric
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 2 cups tomato sauce
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil

Instructions

  1. In a large pot of boiling water, blanch the cabbage leaves for 2 minutes. Remove and set aside to cool.
  2. In a bowl, mix the ground chicken, onion, garlic, coriander, turmeric, salt, and pepper.
  3. Place a spoonful of the chicken mixture onto each cabbage leaf and roll it up, tucking in the sides to form a neat roll.
  4. In a separate pot, heat the vegetable oil and sauté the stuffed cabbage rolls until golden brown.
  5. Pour in the tomato sauce and chicken broth. Simmer for 45 minutes until the cabbage is tender and the chicken is cooked through.
  6. Serve the Gulai Ayam hot with steamed rice.
