Gyeran Jjim (계란찜)
계란찜 (Gyeran Jjim) is a traditional Korean steamed egg dish that is simple to make and incredibly delicious. It is a popular side dish in Koryo-saram Cuisine, enjoyed by many for its smooth and custard-like texture.
Ingredients
- 4 large eggs
- 1 cup water
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1 green onion, finely chopped
Instructions
- In a bowl, beat the eggs until well mixed.
- Gradually add water while stirring to combine.
- Stir in salt and sesame oil.
- Grease a heatproof dish and pour the egg mixture into it.
- Sprinkle chopped green onions on top.
- Cover the dish with a lid or aluminum foil.
- Place the dish in a steamer or a pot with boiling water, and steam for 10 minutes.
- Once cooked, remove from heat and let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
