계란찜 (Gyeran Jjim) is a traditional Korean steamed egg dish that is simple to make and incredibly delicious. It is a popular side dish in Koryo-saram Cuisine, enjoyed by many for its smooth and custard-like texture.

Gyeran Jjim (계란찜)

Ingredients

  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 green onion, finely chopped

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, beat the eggs until well mixed.
  2. Gradually add water while stirring to combine.
  3. Stir in salt and sesame oil.
  4. Grease a heatproof dish and pour the egg mixture into it.
  5. Sprinkle chopped green onions on top.
  6. Cover the dish with a lid or aluminum foil.
  7. Place the dish in a steamer or a pot with boiling water, and steam for 10 minutes.
  8. Once cooked, remove from heat and let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
