Ingredients
- 24 round gyoza wrappers
- 1/2 pound ground pork
- 1 cup shredded cabbage
- 2 green onions, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil, for frying
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine the ground pork, cabbage, green onions, garlic, soy sauce, sesame oil, ginger, and black pepper.
- Place a gyoza wrapper on a clean, dry surface. Spoon about 1 tablespoon of the pork mixture into the center of the wrapper.
- Moisten the edges of the wrapper with water. Fold the wrapper in half over the filling and pleat the edges to seal.
- Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Place the gyoza in the skillet in a single layer.
- Cook the gyoza for 2-3 minutes, or until the bottoms are golden brown.
- Add 1/4 cup of water to the skillet and immediately cover with a lid. Steam the gyoza for 5 minutes, or until the wrappers are translucent and the filling is cooked through.
- Remove the lid and continue to cook for 2-3 minutes, or until the water has evaporated and the bottoms of the gyoza are crispy.
- Transfer the gyoza to a serving plate and serve with dipping sauce.
