Ingredients

  • 1 whole duck, cleaned and cut into pieces
  • 2 onions, finely chopped
  • 2 tomatoes, pureed
  • 1 tablespoon ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 2 teaspoons red chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin powder
  • 1 teaspoon coriander powder
  • 4-5 green chilies, slit
  • 1/2 cup mustard oil
  • Salt to taste
  • Fresh coriander leaves for garnish

Instructions

  1. Heat mustard oil in a heavy-bottomed pan.
  2. Add the chopped onions and sauté until golden brown.
  3. Add the ginger-garlic paste and sauté for a few minutes.
  4. Add the duck pieces and cook until they are slightly browned.
  5. Stir in the tomato puree, turmeric powder, red chili powder, cumin powder, and coriander powder. Cook for 10-15 minutes.
  6. Add the slit green chilies and salt to taste. Cover and cook until the duck is tender.
  7. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves before serving.
