Ingredients

  • 1 pound fresh shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ginger, grated
  • 2 green onions, finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon white pepper
  • 4 slices white bread, crusts removed
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 cup sesame seeds
  • Oil for deep-frying

Instructions

  1. In a food processor, combine the shrimp, garlic, ginger, green onions, soy sauce, sesame oil, sugar, and white pepper. Process until smooth.
  2. Spread the shrimp mixture onto the bread slices.
  3. Cut each slice into 6 pieces.
  4. Dip each piece into the beaten egg and then coat with sesame seeds.
  5. Heat oil in a wok or deep fryer to 350°F.
  6. Fry the shrimp toasts in batches until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side.
  7. Remove and drain on paper towels.
  8. Serve hot and enjoy!
