Tebasaki, or Japanese chicken wings, are a popular dish in Nagoya, Japan. This recipe adds a twist with a sweet and spicy Hachimitsu Sriracha Teriyaki glaze, creating a perfect balance of flavors.

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs chicken wings
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 tbsp sriracha sauce
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp grated ginger
  • 1/4 cup sake
  • 1/4 cup mirin
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 2 green onions, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, mix together soy sauce, honey, sriracha, garlic, and ginger to make the teriyaki sauce.
  2. In a large skillet, place the chicken wings in a single layer and pour the teriyaki sauce over them.
  3. Add sake, mirin, and water to the skillet.
  4. Cover and cook over medium heat for 15 minutes, then uncover and cook for an additional 10 minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken and glaze the wings.
  5. Transfer the wings to a serving platter, garnish with chopped green onions, and serve hot.
