Hainanese Chicken Satay

Ingredients
- 1 lb chicken breast, cut into cubes
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon turmeric
- 1 teaspoon coriander
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 shallot, finely chopped
- Bamboo skewers, soaked in water
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix together soy sauce, oyster sauce, sesame oil, brown sugar, ground cumin, turmeric, coriander, chili powder, garlic, and shallot.
- Add the chicken cubes to the marinade and coat evenly. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.
- Thread the marinated chicken onto the soaked bamboo skewers.
- Heat a grill or grill pan over medium-high heat. Grill the chicken satay for 3-4 minutes on each side, or until cooked through.
- Serve the Hainanese Chicken Satay hot with peanut sauce or sweet chili sauce.
