Haipai Sesame Chicken (海派芝麻鸡)

Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar

  • 2 tsp sesame oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 2 tbsp cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp water
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 2 green onions, thinly sliced
  • 2 tbsp sesame seeds, toasted

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix the soy sauce, rice vinegar, honey, sesame oil, garlic, and ginger. Add the chicken pieces and marinate for 10 minutes.
  2. In a small bowl, mix the cornstarch and water to create a slurry.
  3. Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the chicken and cook until browned and cooked through.
  4. Pour the sauce over the chicken and cook for 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens.
  5. Remove from heat and sprinkle with green onions and toasted sesame seeds.
