Ingredients

  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 packet active dry yeast
  • 1 1/4 cups warm water
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, and salt.
  2. Dissolve the yeast in the warm water and let it sit for 5 minutes until foamy.
  3. Pour the yeast mixture and vegetable oil into the dry ingredients and mix until a dough forms.
  4. Knead the dough on a floured surface for 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  5. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour.
  6. Punch down the dough and divide it into 12 equal pieces. Shape each piece into a ball and place on a greased baking sheet.
  7. Cover the dough balls and let them rise for another 30 minutes.
  8. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  9. Bake the bread for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
  10. Remove from the oven and let the bread cool on a wire rack before serving.
