Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground pork
  • 2 cups finely chopped cabbage
  • 3 green onions, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon grated ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 package round dumpling wrappers
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil, for frying

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the ground pork, cabbage, green onions, garlic, soy sauce, sesame oil, ginger, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.
  2. Place a small spoonful of the pork mixture in the center of a dumpling wrapper. Moisten the edges with water, then fold the wrapper in half and press to seal, creating a half-moon shape.
  3. Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Place the dumplings in the skillet in a single layer, making sure they are not touching. Cook for 2-3 minutes, or until the bottoms are golden brown.
  4. Pour 1/4 cup of water into the skillet and immediately cover with a lid. Reduce heat to low and steam the dumplings for 8-10 minutes, or until the filling is cooked through.
  5. Remove the lid and increase the heat to medium-high. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, or until the bottoms are crispy and golden brown.
  6. Repeat with the remaining dumplings, adding more oil to the skillet as needed.
  7. Serve the Hakka Fried Pork Dumplings hot, with soy sauce or your favorite dipping sauce.
