Ingredients

  • 2 cups sticky rice
  • 6 dried lotus leaves
  • 200g pork belly, diced
  • 6 dried shiitake mushrooms, rehydrated and diced
  • 1/2 cup dried shrimp, soaked and chopped
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1/2 tsp white pepper
  • 1/4 cup chopped scallions

Instructions

  1. Soak the sticky rice in water for 2 hours, then drain.
  2. Soak the dried lotus leaves in water until they are pliable, then pat dry.
  3. Heat a pan over medium heat and cook the pork belly until browned. Add the garlic, mushrooms, and shrimp, and cook until fragrant.
  4. Stir in the soy sauce, oyster sauce, sesame oil, and white pepper. Add the sticky rice and scallions, and mix well.
  5. Divide the rice mixture into 6 portions. Place each portion onto a lotus leaf, then fold and secure the leaf to form a packet.
  6. Steam the packets for 1 hour.
  7. Unwrap the lotus leaves before serving.
