Ingredients
- 2 lbs beef brisket, cut into chunks
- 3 slices ginger
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 star anise
- 2 cinnamon sticks
- 3 tbsp soy sauce

- 2 tbsp oyster sauce
- 1 tbsp brown sugar
- 4 cups water
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
Instructions
- In a large pot, heat vegetable oil over medium heat. Add ginger, garlic, star anise, and cinnamon sticks. Sauté until fragrant.
- Add the beef brisket chunks to the pot and brown on all sides.
- Pour in soy sauce, dark soy sauce, and oyster sauce. Sprinkle brown sugar over the beef.
- Pour in water and bring the mixture to a boil. Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 2 hours or until the beef is tender.
- Once the beef is tender, uncover the pot and allow the sauce to thicken.
- Serve the braised beef brisket hot with steamed rice or noodles.
