Ingredients
- 1 lb sweet cheese, such as ricotta or farmer's cheese
- 1/2 cup semolina
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup rose water
- 1/4 cup orange blossom water
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter
- 12 phyllo dough sheets
- 1/4 cup pistachios, chopped (for garnish)
- 1/4 cup simple syrup (for drizzling)
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine the sweet cheese, semolina, sugar, rose water, and orange blossom water. Mix well until smooth.
- Melt the butter in a small saucepan over low heat.
- Place one sheet of phyllo dough on a clean surface and brush it with melted butter.
- Place a spoonful of the cheese mixture at the bottom of the phyllo sheet and roll it up into a cigar shape, tucking in the sides as you roll.
- Repeat with the remaining phyllo sheets and cheese mixture.
- Place the rolls on a baking sheet and bake in a preheated oven at 350°F for 20 minutes, or until golden brown.
- Drizzle the rolls with simple syrup and sprinkle with chopped pistachios before serving.
