Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 4-5 apples, peeled, cored, and sliced
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 200g Handkäse cheese, thinly sliced

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large bowl, mix the flour, granulated sugar, and salt. Cut in the cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  3. Press the dough into a tart pan to form the crust. Arrange the apple slices over the crust.
  4. Sprinkle the brown sugar and cinnamon over the apples. Place the Handkäse slices on top.
  5. Bake for 40 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the apples are tender.
  6. Let the tart cool for a few minutes before serving.
