Harissa Chicken Skewers
Harissa Chicken Skewers are a flavorful and spicy dish that originates from Berber cuisine. These skewers are perfect for grilling and are sure to be a hit at any barbecue or gathering.
Ingredients
- 1.5 lbs boneless, skinless chicken thighs, cut into 1-inch cubes
- 3 tbsp harissa paste
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp ground cumin
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1 red onion, cut into chunks
- 1 red bell pepper, cut into chunks
- 1 yellow bell pepper, cut into chunks
- 8-10 wooden skewers, soaked in water for 30 minutes
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix the harissa paste, olive oil, cumin, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper.
- Add the chicken cubes to the bowl and toss to coat them evenly with the harissa mixture. Marinate for at least 1 hour in the refrigerator.
- Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.
- Thread the marinated chicken, red onion, and bell peppers onto the soaked skewers.
- Grill the skewers for 12-15 minutes, turning occasionally, until the chicken is cooked through and the vegetables are charred.
- Remove from the grill and let rest for a few minutes before serving.
