Harissa-marinated Grilled Tofu

Ingredients

  • 1 block of firm tofu, drained and pressed
  • 3 tablespoons harissa paste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Chopped fresh cilantro for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, whisk together the harissa paste, olive oil, lemon juice, cumin, smoked paprika, salt, pepper, and minced garlic to make the marinade.
  2. Cut the pressed tofu into thick slices and place them in a shallow dish. Pour the marinade over the tofu, making sure each slice is well coated. Marinate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 2 hours in the refrigerator.
  3. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat. Lightly oil the grill grates to prevent sticking.
  4. Place the marinated tofu slices on the grill and cook for 4-5 minutes on each side, or until grill marks appear and the tofu is heated through.
  5. Remove the grilled tofu from the heat and garnish with chopped fresh cilantro. Serve hot and enjoy!
