Havelland Pflaumen Streusel (havelland Plum Crumble)
Havelland Pflaumen Streusel, or Havelland Plum Crumble, is a traditional dessert from the Brandenburg cuisine in Germany. This delicious crumble is made with fresh plums and a buttery streusel topping, creating a perfect balance of sweet and tart flavors.
Ingredients
- 1 kg fresh plums, pitted and sliced
- 200g all-purpose flour
- 150g granulated sugar
- 150g unsalted butter, cold and cubed
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp salt
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
- In a large bowl, combine the sliced plums with 50g of sugar and let them sit for 15 minutes to release their juices.
- In another bowl, mix the flour, remaining sugar, cinnamon, and salt. Add the cold butter and use your fingers to rub it into the dry ingredients until it resembles coarse crumbs.
- Transfer the plum mixture to a baking dish and sprinkle the streusel topping evenly over the plums.
- Bake for 40 minutes or until the topping is golden brown and the plum juices are bubbling.
- Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
