Hawaiian Tuna Tataki
This Hawaiian Tuna Tataki recipe is a delicious and refreshing dish that features lightly seared tuna with a flavorful marinade.
Ingredients
- 1 lb sushi-grade tuna
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tbsp sesame oil
- 1 tbsp rice vinegar
- 1 tbsp honey
- 1 tsp grated ginger
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 2 green onions, thinly sliced
- 1 tbsp sesame seeds
- 1/4 cup cilantro, chopped
- 1 tbsp vegetable oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, sesame oil, rice vinegar, honey, ginger, and garlic to make the marinade.
- Place the tuna in a shallow dish and pour half of the marinade over the tuna. Reserve the remaining marinade for serving.
- Cover and refrigerate the tuna for 30 minutes to marinate.
- Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over high heat. Remove the tuna from the marinade and season with salt and pepper.
- Sear the tuna for 1-2 minutes on each side, then remove from the skillet and let it rest for a few minutes.
- Slice the tuna thinly and arrange on a serving platter. Drizzle with the remaining marinade and sprinkle with green onions, sesame seeds, and cilantro.
