Hazaragi Stuffed Bell Peppers (Dolma-e Filfil)
Dolma-e Filfil, also known as Hazaragi Stuffed Bell Peppers, is a traditional dish from Hazaragi Cuisine that is bursting with flavors and spices. This dish is perfect for a family gathering or a special occasion.
Ingredients
- 4 large bell peppers
- 1 cup cooked rice
- 1 cup cooked lentils
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 tomatoes, diced
- 1/4 cup raisins
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh mint
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon ground coriander
- 1/2 teaspoon ground turmeric
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 cups vegetable broth
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Cut the tops off the bell peppers and remove the seeds and membranes.
- In a large bowl, mix together the cooked rice, cooked lentils, chopped onion, diced tomatoes, raisins, mint, parsley, cumin, coriander, turmeric, salt, and pepper.
- Stuff the bell peppers with the rice and lentil mixture.
- Place the stuffed bell peppers in a baking dish and drizzle with olive oil.
- Pour the vegetable broth into the bottom of the baking dish.
- Cover the dish with foil and bake for 45 minutes.
- Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until the peppers are tender.
- Serve the stuffed bell peppers hot and enjoy!
