Healthy Banana Bread
This healthy banana bread recipe is a delicious and nutritious treat that's perfect for breakfast or as a snack. It's easy to make and packed with the natural sweetness of ripe bananas.
Ingredients
- 3 ripe bananas, mashed
- 1/3 cup Greek yogurt
- 1/4 cup honey or maple syrup
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 3/4 cups whole wheat flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup chopped walnuts or pecans (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x5 inch loaf pan.
- In a large bowl, mix the mashed bananas, Greek yogurt, honey or maple syrup, and vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the whole wheat flour, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt.
- Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and stir until just combined. Fold in the chopped nuts, if using.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
- Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Allow the banana bread to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.
