Ingredients
- 2 cups whole wheat flour
- 1/4 cup coconut sugar
- 1 tbsp ground cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 cup unsweetened almond milk
- 2 tbsp coconut oil, melted
- 1 packet active dry yeast
- 1/4 cup warm water
- 1/4 cup unsweetened applesauce
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
- In a small bowl, combine the warm water and yeast. Let it sit for 5 minutes until it becomes frothy.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, coconut sugar, cinnamon, and salt.
- In a separate bowl, mix the almond milk, melted coconut oil, applesauce, and vanilla extract.
- Add the yeast mixture to the wet ingredients and stir to combine.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for 5 minutes, then place it in a greased bowl and cover with a towel. Let it rise for 1 hour.
- Roll out the dough into a rectangle, sprinkle with cinnamon and coconut sugar, then roll it up and slice into 12 rolls.
- Place the rolls in a greased baking dish and let them rise for another 30 minutes.
- Bake at 350°F for 25 minutes or until golden brown.
