Ingredients
- 1.5 lbs lamb, cut into chunks
- 2 onions, diced
- 3 carrots, sliced
- 3 potatoes, diced
- 4 cups beef broth
- 1/2 cup red wine
- 2 bay leaves
- 1/2 tsp thyme
- 1/2 tsp rosemary
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp dried parsley
- 1/2 cup milk
- 2 tbsp butter
Instructions
- In a large pot, brown the lamb chunks over medium heat.
- Add the onions, carrots, and potatoes to the pot and cook for 5 minutes.
- Pour in the beef broth and red wine, then add the bay leaves, thyme, and rosemary. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 1.5 hours.
- In a bowl, mix the flour, baking powder, salt, and dried parsley. Cut in the butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in the milk to form a sticky dough.
- Drop spoonfuls of the dumpling dough onto the simmering stew. Cover and cook for 20 minutes without lifting the lid.
