Heavenly Halva (Ουράνιος χαλβάς)

Ingredients

  • 1 cup semolina
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup olive oil
  • 1/2 cup chopped almonds
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon

Instructions

  1. In a large pan, heat the olive oil over medium heat.
  2. Add the semolina and cook, stirring constantly, until it turns golden brown and aromatic.
  3. In a separate saucepan, combine the sugar and water. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat and simmer until the sugar is completely dissolved.
  4. Slowly pour the sugar syrup into the semolina mixture, stirring continuously to prevent lumps from forming.
  5. Add the chopped almonds and ground cinnamon, and continue to cook for another 5 minutes, stirring constantly.
  6. Remove from heat and let the halva cool for a few minutes before serving.
