Kozhe is a traditional Kyrgyz dish that is often enjoyed during special occasions and celebrations. This creamy and hearty soup is made with meat, rice, and dairy, creating a comforting and satisfying meal.
Ingredients
- 1 lb lamb or beef, cut into small pieces
- 1 cup rice
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 4 cups water
- 2 cups milk
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- In a large pot, bring the water to a boil.
- Add the meat, rice, and onion to the boiling water. Reduce the heat and let it simmer for 1.5 hours, stirring occasionally.
- Pour in the milk and continue to simmer for another 30 minutes.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Serve hot and enjoy!
