Ingredients

  • 2 cups whole wheat flour
  • 1 cup oat bran
  • 1/2 cup ground flaxseed

  • 1 packet active dry yeast
  • 1 1/4 cups warm water
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, dissolve the yeast in warm water and let it sit for 5 minutes.
  2. Stir in the honey, olive oil, and salt.
  3. Add the whole wheat flour, oat bran, and flaxseed. Mix until a dough forms.
  4. Knead the dough on a floured surface for 10 minutes, then place it in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise for 1 hour.
  5. Punch down the dough, shape it into a loaf, and place it in a greased loaf pan. Let it rise for another 30 minutes.
  6. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and bake the bread for 40-45 minutes, or until golden brown.
  7. Let the bread cool before slicing and serving.
