Hmong-inspired Lemongrass Beef Skewers

Ingredients

  • 1 lb beef sirloin, thinly sliced
  • 3 stalks lemongrass, white parts only, finely chopped
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons fish sauce
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 8 bamboo skewers, soaked in water for 30 minutes

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine the lemongrass, garlic, fish sauce, soy sauce, honey, vegetable oil, and black pepper to make the marinade.
  2. Add the sliced beef to the marinade and toss to coat. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, or overnight for best results.
