Hmong-inspired Lemongrass Pork Skewers
These Hmong-inspired lemongrass pork skewers are a delicious and flavorful dish that's perfect for grilling or cooking on the stovetop. The combination of lemongrass, garlic, and other aromatic spices creates a mouthwatering marinade that infuses the pork with incredible flavor.
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 lbs pork shoulder, cut into 1-inch cubes
- 3 stalks lemongrass, finely chopped
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 shallots, finely chopped
- 2 tbsp fish sauce
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp honey
- 1 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1 tsp ground black pepper
- 8-10 bamboo skewers, soaked in water for 30 minutes
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine the lemongrass, garlic, shallots, fish sauce, soy sauce, honey, vegetable oil, and black pepper to make the marinade.
- Add the pork cubes to the marinade and toss to coat. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or overnight for best results.
- Thread the marinated pork onto the soaked bamboo skewers.
- Heat a grill or grill pan over medium-high heat. Cook the skewers for 3-4 minutes on each side, or until the pork is cooked through and slightly charred.
- Serve the lemongrass pork skewers hot with steamed rice and your favorite dipping sauce.
