Hmong-inspired Tofu Satay

Ingredients

  • 1 block of firm tofu, pressed and cut into cubes
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon curry powder
  • 1/4 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 2 tablespoons lime juice
  • 1 tablespoon sriracha
  • 1/4 cup water
  • Skewers for grilling

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix together the soy sauce, brown sugar, minced garlic, and curry powder. Add the tofu cubes and marinate for 15 minutes.
  2. While the tofu is marinating, prepare the peanut sauce by whisking together the peanut butter, lime juice, sriracha, and water in a small saucepan over low heat. Stir until smooth and creamy.
  3. Thread the marinated tofu cubes onto skewers and grill on a stovetop grill pan or outdoor grill for 5-7 minutes on each side, until lightly charred.
  4. Serve the grilled tofu satay with the creamy peanut sauce for dipping.
