Holat (stuffed Grilled Bell Peppers)
Holat is a traditional Batak dish featuring grilled bell peppers stuffed with a flavorful mixture of ingredients. This dish is a perfect combination of savory and smoky flavors, making it a popular choice for gatherings and special occasions.
Ingredients
- 4 large bell peppers
- 1 cup cooked rice
- 1 cup diced tofu
- 1/2 cup chopped onions
- 1/2 cup diced tomatoes
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon ground coriander
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1/2 teaspoon turmeric
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
Instructions
- Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.
- Cut the tops off the bell peppers and remove the seeds and membranes.
- In a bowl, combine the cooked rice, tofu, onions, tomatoes, garlic, coriander, cumin, turmeric, salt, and pepper.
- Stuff the bell peppers with the rice and tofu mixture.
- Brush the stuffed bell peppers with olive oil.
- Place the bell peppers on the grill and cook for 20-25 minutes, turning occasionally, until the peppers are tender and slightly charred.
- Remove from the grill and let them cool for a few minutes before serving.
