Holat (stuffed Grilled Tofu)
Holat is a traditional Batak dish featuring grilled tofu stuffed with a flavorful mixture of vegetables and spices. This dish is a popular choice for both vegetarians and meat-eaters alike, thanks to its rich and satisfying flavors.
Ingredients
- 4 blocks of firm tofu
- 1 cup chopped carrots
- 1 cup chopped cabbage
- 1 cup chopped green beans
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons cooking oil
Instructions
- Preheat the grill to medium heat.
- Cut the tofu blocks in half horizontally to create a pocket for the stuffing.
- In a bowl, mix together the chopped carrots, cabbage, green beans, onion, garlic, soy sauce, black pepper, and salt.
- Stuff the tofu pockets with the vegetable mixture.
- Brush the stuffed tofu with cooking oil.
- Grill the tofu for 5-7 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and heated through.
