Honey Chilli Tofu is a popular dish in Indian Chinese cuisine, known for its sweet and spicy flavors. It's a perfect combination of crispy tofu coated in a sticky honey chilli sauce.

Honey Chilli Tofu

Ingredients

  • 400g firm tofu, cut into cubes
  • 3 tbsp cornflour
  • 2 tbsp oil for frying
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp chilli sauce
  • 1 tsp ginger, minced
  • 1 tsp garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup bell peppers, diced
  • 1/4 cup spring onions, chopped
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Press the tofu cubes between paper towels to remove excess moisture.
  2. Coat the tofu cubes with cornflour.
  3. Heat oil in a pan and fry the tofu cubes until golden and crispy. Drain on paper towels.
  4. In a separate pan, heat 1 tbsp oil and sauté ginger and garlic.
  5. Add bell peppers and sauté for 2 minutes.
  6. Stir in honey, soy sauce, chilli sauce, and salt. Cook until the sauce thickens.
  7. Add the fried tofu cubes and toss to coat in the sauce.
  8. Garnish with spring onions and serve hot.
