Ingredients
- 500g pork shoulder, cut into long strips
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons hoisin sauce
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 1 tablespoon Chinese rice wine
- 1 teaspoon five-spice powder
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1/2 teaspoon red food coloring (optional)
Instructions
- Combine garlic, hoisin sauce, soy sauce, honey, Chinese rice wine, five-spice powder, sesame oil, and red food coloring in a bowl to make the marinade.
- Add the pork strips to the marinade, ensuring they are well coated. Marinate for at least 4 hours or overnight in the refrigerator.
- Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
- Place the marinated pork strips on a wire rack set over a baking tray. Bake for 30-35 minutes, basting with the remaining marinade every 10 minutes.
- Turn the oven to broil and cook for an additional 5-7 minutes to caramelize the glaze.
- Remove from the oven and let it rest for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
