Honey Walnut Shrimp

Ingredients
- 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 1 cup walnuts
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 3 tablespoons honey
- 1 tablespoon condensed milk
- 1/2 cup cornstarch
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1/4 cup water
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup white vinegar
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1/4 teaspoon chili flakes
- Oil for frying
Instructions
- In a small bowl, mix together mayonnaise, honey, condensed milk, and sesame oil to make the sauce. Set aside.
- In a separate bowl, combine water and sugar. Stir until the sugar dissolves. Add the walnuts and toss to coat. Heat a skillet over medium heat and add the coated walnuts. Cook for 5-7 minutes, stirring frequently, until the walnuts are caramelized. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
- In a shallow dish, mix together cornstarch and a pinch of salt. Dip each shrimp into the beaten eggs, then coat with the cornstarch mixture.
- Heat oil in a large pan over medium-high heat. Fry the coated shrimp in batches for 2-3 minutes until golden and crispy. Remove and drain on paper towels.
- In a separate pan, combine white vinegar and chili flakes. Bring to a boil and cook for 1-2 minutes until slightly thickened. Add the fried shrimp to the pan and toss to coat with the vinegar mixture.
- Transfer the coated shrimp to a serving platter. Drizzle the honey sauce over the shrimp and top with the candied walnuts.
