Ingredients

  • 1 lb pork belly, cut into small pieces
  • 2 bundles vermicelli noodles
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp dark soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 3 slices ginger
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 green onions, chopped
  • 1 tbsp cooking oil

Instructions

  1. Soak the vermicelli noodles in hot water until softened, then drain and set aside.
  2. Heat the cooking oil in a wok or large skillet over medium heat. Add the pork pieces and cook until browned.
  3. Add the ginger, garlic, and green onions to the pork. Stir-fry for a few minutes until fragrant.
  4. Pour in the soy sauce, dark soy sauce, and sugar. Stir to coat the pork evenly.
  5. Pour in the chicken broth and bring to a simmer. Cover and cook for 30 minutes.
  6. Add the soaked vermicelli noodles to the wok. Stir gently to combine with the pork and sauce.
  7. Cover and cook for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until the noodles have absorbed the flavors of the sauce.
  8. Serve the Hong Shao Fen Si Rou hot, garnished with additional green onions if desired.
