Ingredients
- 1 lb beef, sliced
- 2 green bell peppers, sliced
- 3 tbsp vegetable oil
- 3 slices ginger
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp Shaoxing wine
- 3 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp dark soy sauce
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 1 cup beef broth
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Heat 2 tbsp of vegetable oil in a wok over high heat. Stir-fry the beef until browned. Remove from the wok and set aside.
- Heat the remaining 1 tbsp of vegetable oil in the wok. Add the ginger and garlic, and stir-fry until fragrant.
- Pour in the Shaoxing wine, soy sauce, dark soy sauce, and sugar. Stir well.
- Add the beef back into the wok and stir to coat with the sauce.
- Pour in the beef broth and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 1.5 hours, or until the beef is tender.
- Add the green bell peppers and cook for another 5 minutes.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
