Ingredients

  • 500g pork belly, thinly sliced
  • 2 large potatoes, peeled and cut into chunks
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 piece ginger, sliced
  • 2 green onions, chopped
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp dark soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp Shaoxing wine
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tsp five-spice powder
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Heat vegetable oil in a wok or large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add the pork slices and stir-fry until browned.
  3. Push the pork to the side of the wok and add garlic, ginger, and green onions. Stir-fry until aromatic.
  4. Stir in soy sauce, dark soy sauce, Shaoxing wine, sugar, and five-spice powder. Mix well.
  5. Add the potatoes and chicken broth. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low and simmer for 45 minutes, or until the pork and potatoes are tender.
  6. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  7. Transfer to a serving dish and garnish with additional green onions, if desired.
