Ingredients
- 4 fish fillets (such as carp or sea bass)
- 3 slices of ginger
- 3 green onions, cut into 2-inch pieces
- 3 tablespoons soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons Shaoxing wine
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 tablespoon cooking oil
- 1 cup water
Instructions
- Pat the fish fillets dry with paper towels and place them in a shallow dish.
- Evenly scatter the ginger and green onions over the fish fillets.
- In a small bowl, mix together the soy sauce, Shaoxing wine, and sugar. Pour the mixture over the fish fillets.
- Heat the cooking oil in a wok or large skillet over medium heat. Carefully add the fish fillets, ginger, and green onions to the wok.
- Pour the water around the edges of the wok. Cover and simmer for 15-20 minutes, or until the fish is cooked through and the sauce has thickened.
- Transfer the fish and sauce to a serving platter. Garnish with additional green onions, if desired.
