Hrvatska Peka Delight (croatian Peka Delight)
Hrvatska Peka Delight, also known as Croatian Peka Delight, is a traditional Balkan dish that is slow-cooked to perfection. This hearty and flavorful meal is a staple in Croatian cuisine and is perfect for sharing with family and friends.
Ingredients
- 1 kg mixed meat (chicken, lamb, and/or beef)
- 1 kg mixed vegetables (potatoes, bell peppers, onions, tomatoes)
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tbsp dried herbs (rosemary, thyme, oregano)
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F).
- Cut the meat and vegetables into large chunks and place them in a large baking dish.
- Drizzle olive oil over the meat and vegetables, then add minced garlic, dried herbs, salt, and pepper. Toss to coat evenly.
- Cover the baking dish with a lid or aluminum foil and place it in the preheated oven.
- Cook for 2 hours, then remove the lid and cook for an additional 20 minutes to allow the meat and vegetables to brown slightly.
- Once done, remove from the oven and let it rest for a few minutes before serving.
