Hu Jiao Niu Li, also known as Black Pepper Beef, is a popular dish in Pakistani Chinese cuisine. It features tender beef strips stir-fried with a flavorful black pepper sauce, creating a delicious and aromatic dish.
Ingredients
- 500g beef sirloin, thinly sliced
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
- 1 tablespoon black pepper, coarsely ground
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 3 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 onion, sliced
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 bell pepper, sliced
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- Salt to taste
Instructions
- In a bowl, marinate the beef with soy sauce, oyster sauce, black pepper, and cornstarch. Set aside for 10 minutes.
- Heat 2 tablespoons of oil in a wok or large skillet over high heat. Add the marinated beef and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until browned. Remove the beef from the wok and set aside.
- Heat the remaining oil in the wok. Add the onion, garlic, and bell pepper. Stir-fry for 2-3 minutes.
- Return the beef to the wok. Add sugar and salt. Stir-fry for another 2 minutes until everything is well combined and the beef is cooked to your liking.
- Transfer to a serving dish and serve hot with steamed rice.
