Ingredients
- 1 block of firm tofu, cut into cubes
- 1/2 cup cornstarch
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 green onions, chopped
- 1 red chili, sliced
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
Instructions
- Press the tofu cubes between paper towels to remove excess moisture.
- Coat the tofu cubes in cornstarch.
- Heat vegetable oil in a pan and fry the tofu until crispy and golden brown. Drain on paper towels.
- In the same pan, sauté garlic, green onions, and red chili until fragrant.
- Add soy sauce, rice vinegar, sugar, and sesame oil to the pan and stir to combine.
- Add the crispy tofu back to the pan and toss to coat with the sauce.
- Serve the Hunan-style crispy tofu hot and garnish with additional green onions, if desired.
