Ingredients
- 500g thinly sliced beef
- 300g firm tofu, cubed
- 200g enoki mushrooms
- 150g Chinese cabbage, chopped
- 100g mung bean sprouts
- 4 pieces of dried red chilies
- 4 slices of ginger
- 4 cloves of garlic, minced
- 2 green onions, chopped
- 1 tbsp Sichuan peppercorns
- 1 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1.5 L beef or chicken broth
- Hot pot dipping sauce (optional)
Instructions
- In a large pot, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat. Add the dried red chilies, ginger, garlic, and Sichuan peppercorns. Stir-fry until fragrant.
- Pour the beef or chicken broth into the pot and bring it to a boil. Then reduce the heat and let it simmer for 15 minutes.
- Add the beef slices, tofu, enoki mushrooms, Chinese cabbage, and mung bean sprouts into the pot. Cook for 5-8 minutes until the beef is cooked and the vegetables are tender.
- Transfer the hot pot to the dining table and place it on a portable stove. Keep it simmering while enjoying the meal.
