Hundun Tang (hearty Manchu Wonton Soup)
Hundun Tang, also known as Hearty Manchu Wonton Soup, is a traditional dish from Manchu Cuisine that is both comforting and satisfying. This warm and flavorful soup is perfect for a cozy family meal or a gathering with friends.
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground pork
- 1/2 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 1/4 cup green onions, finely chopped
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp sesame oil
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1 package wonton wrappers
- 8 cups chicken broth
- 2 cups bok choy, chopped
- 1/4 cup cilantro, chopped
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine the ground pork, shrimp, green onions, soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and black pepper. Mix well.
- Place a small amount of the pork and shrimp mixture in the center of each wonton wrapper. Moisten the edges with water, then fold the wrapper over the filling to create a triangle. Press the edges to seal.
- In a large pot, bring the chicken broth to a boil. Add the wontons and bok choy, then reduce the heat and simmer for 10-15 minutes.
- Once the wontons are cooked through, add the chopped cilantro to the soup and stir gently.
- Serve the Hundun Tang hot in bowls and enjoy!
